Stefanie Jara EScobar

Born in Ecuador, Stefanie Jara Escobar began her academic journey at the Instituto Superior de Televisión in Guayaquil, where she graduated in television acting with a focus on stage direction.

Her acting career includes roles in plays such as Un barco viene de ti, La casa de Bernarda Alba, La casa del qué dirán, and Cerca, as well as her participation in the film project Leyendas del sur in Loja, Ecuador. As an ensemble member of Aguijón Theater, Jara Escobar has excelled in productions such as Mario Vargas Llosa’s La Chunga, Federico García Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba, Rey Andújar’s Adverses, Dolores Prida’s A House of Her Own and Mario Cantú Toscano’s La P*nche India.

Her talents extend beyond performing, as she has also taken on behind the scenes roles such as production and stage director assistant, and lighting and sound operator, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the theater craft.

In 2025 Jara Escobar graduates with a BFA in interior architecture at Columbia College Chicago, complementing her education with associate degrees in fine arts from Wilbur Wright College, and architecture from Harold Washington College. With a vision of merging art and design, she aims to venture into set design, blending her passion for architecture with the dynamic world of theater.
